Springer’s Gorgeous New Portsmouth, New Hampshire Store

Well here it is, just in time for Christmas, Springer’s all new Portsmouth, NH store. The Beaulieu family christened the newly remodeled store just before Thanksgiving and it has been gangbusters ever since. “The Response has been fantastic!”, Rich Beaulieu shared with me this week. “ Both traffic and sales are up, especially our Rolex sales. We have more than doubled our size, enlarging our bridal department and expanded our Rolex area to a gorgeous Rolex Watch Corner that anchors the entire store. The effect has been almost immediate.” A client of Freshley Media since 1997, Springers continues to build and solidified it’s roll as northern New England’s premier fine jeweler. Here is a critical holiday selling tip from sales guru Jim Douglass. To an even greater degree, right now during the Holidays, no one is just looking. Someone who is “just looking” is looking for something, looking to hear something, looking to buy something. What does the customer need to hear?

Discovery

Your discovery questions, your discovery conversation and their body language will tell you. What does the customer need to hear? If you keep that in mind your discovery questions, conversation and their body language will connect you with their thoughts. Which is more important to you and your customer, showing them objects (in the dark) or knowing their thoughts? One of them has a 50% better chance of getting a sale.
Discovery is the key to selling! Help them “find” what they are looking for and you will not only make the sale you will win a customer for life!

This season…Give Joy!

Give Joy

Now I’m going to do a little preaching. During the critical days ahead, remember, you determine the attitude and the altitude of your store. You set the mood of the team and of the entire day! Your mood can empower or it can poison. It’s your choice.

What is our “Why”?

Why do people come to our store for Christmas? Have you ever really thought about it? They come to you for joy! Isn’t it really joy that they seek? They are coming to us for that joy, that breathtaking moment on Christmas morning that ONLY a gift this special, the gift of fine jewelry from our store, given in love, will bring!
We sell joy. Remember that with every customer…focus on that, live that. That is our job this and every holiday season and isn’t that also… our joy? Isn’t that why we are jewelers? Isn’t joy our purpose? Give Joy this Christmas!

Try this!

Make it a rule in your store that every morning when every employee comes in the store, everyone’s first greeting to each other is “Merry Christmas!” If we make that the store greeting then how do you think they will greet each customer? Merry Christmas is the happiest greeting…the most joyful thing you can say during the holiday season. It sets the mood and tells every customer you are on the same page. Try this. It really works!
